Senior Data Analyst Switchfly
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Switchfly is looking for an out of the box thinker who has a passion for turning data into insights that power the company's product and corporate strategy. The ideal candidate will have strong statistically analytic skill, data mining experience, and be able to clearly communicate complex insights in simple business terms. This position will work across multiple functions such as product, sales, and engineering and routinely present findings to members of executive team.
To succeed in this role, you must be able to working with clients at all levels both technical and non-technical to communicate/implement the results of your analysis. You must be comfortable with conducting extensive research with large datasets, and turn analytic learning into actionable strategy. This role will be the "rock star" that solves the toughest and most interesting problems in the company.
Based in San Francisco, CA, the Senior Analyst will report to Vice President of Analytics. This position will play a key part of our analytic and corporate strategy roadmap. This role has a unique opportunity to drive the broad application of analytics and information sciences into the daily decision making of a rapidly growing high tech company.
Develop algorithms and predictive models to drive product functions and performance
Guide and manage A/B, multivariate product testing and make specific recommendations based on findings from the tests
Partner with product team to use data to build innovative product experiences e.g. recommendation system, and personalization targeting.
Perform ad-hoc and regular analysis on data from internal and external sources
Drive repeatable, insightful and actionable analysis that influences/guides behavior and decision making
Responsible for the accurate and timely dissemination of information to a broad set of internal and external stakeholders
Comfortably interact with clients at all levels from executive stakeholders to analyst
Create a framework to constantly incorporate new data and more insights that drive improved product and client performance
Help manage the full lifecycle of analytical client engagement from initial brainstorming to recurring dissemination and updating of information
Advanced analytical, statistical and diagnostic skills
Broad knowledge of data mining, statistic, predictive modeling (such as logistic regression, k-means cluster, discriminate analysis), recommender system, and A/B testing methodology.
Expert knowledge of statistics tool such as SAS, SPSS, or R.
Ability to write and execute complex SQL queries to extract data.
Extensive knowledge of business intelligence, web analytics and data warehouse
Excel, Access and other relevant software and programming tools
Experience with eCommerce is a must and knowledge of online-travel a plus
Must be self-motivated, team-oriented and passionate about building an industry leading analytics product
Ability to excel in a fast paced, highly fluid start-up environment with limited direction
Ability to turn analysis into insights and actionable recommendations
Graduate degree in statistics, applied mathematics, information sciences or a similar focus strongly preferred
