Job Description
We are searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented and multi-skilled Senior Database Administrator/Developer with proven experience in large-scale high performance environments. The Senior Database Administrator/Developer will be responsible for supporting database systems and tools operating the Photobucket infrastructure.
Requirements
Four plus years of professional experience administering MySQL or other high performance relational databases such as Oracle, Sybase, etc.
Four plus years of professional experience working in Linux environments or equivalent Unix experience.
Expert knowledge in Linux/Unix shell scripting.
Expert knowledge in PHP scripting.
Proficient knowledge in Perl scripting.
Substantial experience optimizing software and databases for high volumes of storage and high transaction rates.
Familiarity, experience and comfort working with open source tools.
The ability to work on multiple concurrent projects is essential.
Strong self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Available to work after hours and weekends, when required, and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
Ability to lift 35 lbs. and work in a data center environment.
Qualifications
BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Certifications in database administration backed by solid experience.
