Job Description:
Develop and support SQL Server database applications. Work with project teams to design, develop, test, and implement database support for business applications. Support production database applications and batch processing for the enterprise.
Essential Responsibilities ?
? Design, code, test and implement complex stored procedures and database utilities for relational databases.
? Lead database development projects. Includes preparation of standard project documentation, project plans and test/implementation plans.
? Provide direction and advice to less technical associates.
? Provide direct problem solving and support of application analysts in their problem solving efforts.
? Develop, maintain and monitor database backup and recovery procedures.
? Design, implement and administer database security.
? Administer and maintain database performance, size, data and objects.
? Tune complex database processes to ensure maximum database load and query performance.
? Keep current on relevant database tools, releases and techniques.
? Install, maintain and upgrade relational databases and scheduling software.
? Responsible for production database support including batch processing and availability.
? Provide on-call support for production databases and schedulers.
? Analyze business data requirements and participate in application development life cycle.
? Adhere to database source control and change management standards/procedures.
? Create and maintain accurate database documentation and database models.
? Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements -
? Strong SQL Server 2008R2 on Win OS 2008R2 or SQL Server 2005 on Win OS 2003 experience in a a development and administration role.
? Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
? Strong experience with SQL Server replication, performance tuning, partitioning, triggers, BCP and other bulk loading facilities, etc.
? Appropriate technical certifications are highly desirable.
? Asset management and investment accounting business knowledge desired.
? Successful track record developing, testing and supporting database components of business systems software.
? Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server command shell, security, active directory desired.
? Working knowledge of Power Shell desired
? Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and work with minimal supervision.
? Ability to work in a team structure alongside application developers, analysts and business users.
? Strong written and verbal communications skills required
? Strong project management skills desired
