Job Description
Responsible for all aspects of data and SQL Server database administration including hardware and software evaluation and installation, logical and physical database design and implementation, structured testing of database designs, applications, and technology platforms, security administration, backup and recovery planning, capacity planning, performance and tuning, research and evaluation of new tools and techniques, and development of policies, standards and procedures related to the database environment.
Job Requirements: Primary Duties:
? Develop and implement SQL Server database systems that address current and future Company business needs.
? Develops and implements complex data models and logical database designs.
? Designs, constructs and implements physical databases.
? Designs, implements and maintains database security.
? Designs high availability options for SQL Server databases.
? Assists in identifying and resolving database problems.
? Develops, revises and implements policies, standards, procedures and guidelines necessary to effectively administer the database environment following the SQL Server database administration best practices.
? Plans and conducts structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance
? Performs routine and customary operational and monitoring activities to ensure the database environment is stable and capable of meeting ongoing business needs
? Plans and executes testing and implementation of major systems
? Develops, implements test and maintains data retention and archival; plans for storage needs, backup and recovery.
? Adheres to change management policies and procedures.
? Designs codes, tests and implements custom database scripts and stored procedures.
? Interacts with Development, engineering and Implementation team members to support various projects.
Job Requirements
? B.A. in Business of Information Systems or related field
? 3-5 years related work experience in Information Systems with 2-3 years experience in database technology
? Administration of SQL Server 2008 databases
? Knowledge of SQL Server Clustering and Mirroring
? Knowledge and experience with relational database technology, data modeling concepts, tools and techniques, and general business operations
? Knowledge of SQL Server, backup and recovery strategies, and performance and tuning techniques
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
