What you?ll doAs a Senior Database Architect Developer, you will lead technical resource in the strategic oversight and planning of data models and database structural design and development. Oversees the design, evaluation, selection, implementation and support of major databases and metadata structures; reviews and evaluates database performance, risk and financial analysis feasibility studies. Monitors industry trends and directions; develops and presents substantive technical recommendations to senior management. Develops data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development to build, maintain and leverage the data model, ensuring integration with corporate data standards.
How you?ll do it
Define and shape the information vision ? work with senior leaders to understand business data needs, and integrate those into information architecture.
Develop long-term data management processes including data lifecycle management and integration processes.
Ability to fully understand the spec and its relationship with other systems. Identify innovative ways to integrate systems to provide the delightful user experience.
Ability to articulate, influence and enforce best practices.
Define standards, processes, and governance in support of information vision, including technical standards.
Create an information implementation plan by assessing current systems and processes.
Understand complex business needs and translate them into flexible database architecture from which to build new products.
Contribute to the development of Information Data assets such as Enterprise Data Model, Metadata, etc. that are needed to support the organization in achieving its strategic goals.
Oversee outside contractors to manage database development related projects.
Contribute to code development, and testing as needed.
What you?ll need
10+ years of Data/Information architecture experience.
Expert in relational and dimensional database concepts, database architecture and design with hands-on experience in data modeling.
Competent with the Apache Hadoop framework.
Competent in NoSQL database concepts (for example: Cassandra, Hbase and MongoDB).
Experience with commercial and open source solutions for management of Big Data.
Experience with Object Oriented Programming Concepts and familiarity with JAVA programming language.
Ability to create enterprise data architectures for large scale enterprise databases with database scaling techniques such as Sharding.
Experience with MySQL, LDAP (Open LDAP), T-SQL, PL/SQL, expert in data modeling tools such as Erwin, Enterprise Architect and Linux operating system.
What you?ve done
Experience with scripting languages such as Ruby, Perl, Awk and Shell scripting.
Familiar with the SCRUM development process.
Strong sense of personal accountability; contributes beyond job role and responsibilities when necessary.
At least 8 years commercial experience working as a data architect with very large data repositories.
Experience architecting cloud and hybrid data solutions.
Demonstrate strong presentation skills
