SilkRoad is seeking a talented Senior-level Database Engineer with deep technical knowledge of T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server and related tools, data technology best practices and operational experience to work on Heartbeat, our dynamic core Human Resources/HRMS product.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with other senior developers and stakeholders as our database specialist;
Provide cutting-edge design and development expertise across wide array of complex, enterprise-level application development tasks;
Design, implement, and take ownership of database models and objects;
Creation and maintenance (change control and versioning) of database design artifacts and documents;
Design and development of automated routines (scripts etc.) to facilitate the Application development and deployment process;
Drive database performance testing, optimization and tuning;
Design and implement reporting and analytical (OLAP) database solutions.
Candidates must be lawfully and fully (without restriction) employable in the United States either by virtue of citizenship or by having authorization from the Department of Homeland Security and the US Department of Labor.

Demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and handle multiple projects.
Team player with the ability to work effectively independently as well as part of a team.
Required Experience
10+ years of professional experience with Logical and Physical database design strongly preferred;
Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2005/2008);
Deep understanding of T-SQL: functions, indexes, stored procedures, views, and triggers;
Deep knowledge of commercial enterprise application development;
10+ year of experience in Development, Analysis, Architecture, Modeling, optimization, performance tuning, administration (backup, restore, etc), maintenance of database systems;
Experience building and maintaining commercial software applications;
Experience with Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) routines and tools;
Experience working with a version control system (Perforce, VSS, TFS, Sub-Version or similar).

Preferred Experience:
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server clustering;
Experience with SQL Server replication tools including Log Shipping and Snapshots;
Software coding skills and experience with C# and .Net Framework 3.5;
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS);
Current Microsoft database and software technology certifications;
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
