Senior Database Replication Engineer Schooner Information Technology

Schooner is privately held and based in Sunnyvale, California. Our development team is mainly in Sunnyvale, with key staff in Texas and North Carolina, and with a corps of dedicated contractors in our extended team worldwide.
Responsibilities:

Quickly get up to speed on Schooner's patent-pending replication and clustering technology
Design and develop new features and components for Schooner MySQL with Active Cluster working with a team of extremely skilled engineers
Study, prototype, and improve the replication sub-system throughput for LAN, MAN. and WAN configurations
Work with Support team to ensure customers have the highest quality experience with Schooner clustering solutions
Develop and enhance unit tests and distributed test suites for replication features developed; utilize build and test automation for high quality software

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in database product development
Expertise in replication technologies used in database management systems (e.g., group/master/two-tier)
In-depth understanding of database serialization, consistency, versioning
Strong experience in multi-threading and working with distributed development is essential
Strong self-starter with track record of accomplishment
A background in distributed systems, consensus protocols, group communication, and compression is a plus
A background in networking protocols such as point-to-point, reliable multicast, and tree spanning is a plus
BSCS or equivalent preferred
MySQL expertise is a nice plus but not required
