Major ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Design Engineer will develop new transdermal microneedle drug delivery products and technologies. This position will research skin mechanics, new materials, test methods and manufacturing processes. These responsibilities require the ability to specify, design, simulate, source, prototype, test, analyst, debug, integrate, document and transfer the given product to manufacturing. This position will also develop designs that are practical for use in product development and for transfer to manufacturing for subsequent commercial use. In addition, the position will model the device and its functions including interaction with skin using FEA or other appropriate methods and establish validity through in-vitro or in-vivo testing.
Other responsibilities include generating design outputs and successfully verifying and validating designs to comply with design control procedures. The position must also perform and maintain risk analyses on product designs in conjunction with other team members, document test results, methods, and designs, as well as develop prototype and test the designs.
Position Requirements
Must have a BS in biomedical or mechanical engineering, an advanced degree is preferred. Must have 3 years of experience developing products for the medical device, drug delivery, or pharmaceutical markets. Excellent SolidWorks and MS Excel skills. Must also have experience operating force-displacement test equipment as well as using statistics for experiment design and analysis.
