Senior Design Engineer Achates Power
The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for the design of major structural components within the engine as well as ancillary and mounting systems. Areas of possible involvement and responsibility include:Design and analysis of cylinder block structure
Design and analysis of structural engine covers
Design, analysis and development of cylinder liner assembly
Design and analysis of connecting rod structure
Analysis, selection and development of hydrodynamic bearings
Source and procure prototype parts
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or foreign educational equivalent
Minimum of 5 years experience with the design, manufacture and development of engine structural components (e.g. blocks, liners, pistons, etc.).
Experience with structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS workbench or similar FEA software
Desirable Skills:
Heavy-duty diesel engine design experience
Engine mount design and analysis (NVH) experience
Engine FEAD design experience
Pro/Engineer and Pro/Mechanica software expertise
