Design and manage all product categories to achieve brand authenticity and meet financial objectives.
? Design original product that maintains brand integrity and achieves sales/merchandising objectives.
? Find inspiration in a global culture for seasonal Collections.
? Develop artwork, print, fabric, silhouettes, key looks, and presentation boards.
? Mentor and train direct reports and vendor design teams to create better understanding of Tea customer
? Research and development for new fabric, techniques.
? Partner with Merchandising to meet SKU and line plan objectives while always keeping a focus on brand
? Execute timelines on Development Calendar and Line Plan needs.
? Maintain market knowledge of fashion trends by shopping competition as well as other retailers and be
responsible for communicating research out to the rest of the team
? Coordinate concept boards and samples to drive newness to the brand.
? Prepare and assist in seasonal product reviews to cross functional team.
? Attend Fit Meetings to maintain initial vision with development and product teams.
? Work closely with product teams to complement and coordinate process, procedures, and development
? At least five years experience in Design within the retail industry (preferably children?s)
? Bachelors in Fine Arts, or equivalent advanced knowledge through work experience or intellectual
? Computer skills a must ? Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator
? Excellent managerial, organization and leadership skills
? Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
? Extensive background in fit, fabric development, finishes and construction details
