Project Leadership Associates (PLA) is currently seeking a Senior Desktop Administrator to help us provide IT support to our many small business clients in the Greater Boston area. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who have previous experience with a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or any company that specializes in providing IT support to small businesses.
This technical position will be primarily responsible for managing small to mid-size networking environments. You will be part of a team performing Network Maintenance and Network Administration on a day to day basis.
Basic Purpose:
The Desktop Administrator part of a collaborative team that provides technical support to our small business clients. Essential responsibilities include providing solutions to incidents and work orders, completing project based technical assignments including upgrades, rollouts, and other new initiatives, and participating in identifying opportunities for improvement in our clients' systems. The position will require you to provide analyisis and resolve complex end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required.
Required Skills:
Knowledge and demonstrated expertise with the management and support of Windows 7/XP, Microsoft Office, and common productivity applications.
Knowledge and expertise with managing and supporting Mac OS systems and software.
Experience with remote management tools such as LogMeIn, Kaseya, and Remote Desktop.
Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
Knowledge of computer and networking hardware and software products along with their operation and maintenance.
Creating and maintaining user self-help documentation, technical documentation and procedural documentation.
Knowledge of firewalls and network equipment such as routers and switches.
Knowledge of phone systems and telco services for business.
Knowledge of Cisco, VMWare, Hyper-V, and Linux would also be helpful.

Windows Server - Installation, Configuration and Administration
Server 2003/2008
Small Business Server 2003/2008/2011
Active Directory (GPOs)
Microsoft Exchange - Installation, Configuration and Administration
Exchange 2003/2007/2010
Setting up new Exchange environments
Migrating users to a new Exchange server
Networking:
Setting up a firewall, configuring rules, site-to-site VPNs, etc. (Watchguard + SonicWall)
Solid understanding IP addressing and subnet masks
Solid understand of other basics like: DHCP, DNS,NAT
Experience with Kaseya (Highly Desirable), Hyper-V / VMWare, SQL Server and Mac
