Senior Development Manager InfoMedics
General Position Summary:
The Development Manager is responsible for a complete solution delivery team. Responsibility extends to people in key delivery roles including analysts, developers, quality assurance engineers, environments, and deployment; activities including master release planning and scheduling, status reporting, and internal audit and review; and delivery process design and compliance, across a diverse portfolio of projects within a specific area of the business. The Development Manager must develop positive relationships with key business partners, communicate delivery status and changes clearly to all participants and stakeholders, look for divergence in expectation or execution of the plan or features, and manage capacity and assignments within the team. The Development Manager fosters innovation in process, technology and the business solutions developed from each member of the team. The Development Manager is also responsible for developing career development opportunities and plans for his or her direct reports, mentoring them, and providing regular performance assessments and feedback.
Essential Job Functions:
Work involves the planning, scheduling, and assigning of software development projects; coordinating software development projects with the work of other staff; analyzing proposed software applications; developing programs; and providing technical assistance to programming staff. Performs complex development work. manages a team of software engineers, database developers, and other software development positions.
This role requires considerable use of initiative and independent judgment.

Education and Experience:
12+ years of experience in software development
Master?s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is preferred
4+ years of experience in managing a team of software engineers
Consults with other staff members to schedule work and coordinate software development projects.
Participates in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirements capture, spec writing, coding, unit testing, debugging programs, and deployment.
Assists programming staff in developing solutions to software-related problems.
Assists VP of Web Development in planning, scheduling, and assigning projects to development staff.
Assists and advises staff in the solution of programming problems.
Assists in developing standards and procedures for development staff.
Assists in preparing detailed analyses, plans, diagrams, and verification procedures for existing and proposed computer applications.
Verifies program logic by implementing code reviews.
Develops and implements specialized programs and/or routines to supplement and enhance systems software.
Performs studies and evaluates new or enhanced software products and technologies.
Knowledge of e-commerce infrastructure, customer relationship management, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
Evaluates and modifies existing applications and systems programs to take into account changes in system requirements, software releases, or equipment configuration.
Evaluates application and internal hardware requirements for various systems and provides recommendations to Infrastructure team
Coordinates activities with various other teams including the Operations, QA, Product Management, Project Management, and Creative teams
Evaluate and coordinate with vendors to enhance the technical capabilities of the business and our products.
Manages a team of software engineers, providing feedback and training where necessary, conducting performance reviews, assisting with recruitment and selection and dealing with any issues within the team.
Performs any other related work as assigned.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Technologies: WCF, Web Services, AS2/AS3.
Databases: MS SQL Server
Tools: Visual Studio 2003/2005/2008/2010, Business Intelligence Studio 2005/2008, SSRS 2005/2008 and SSAS 2005/2008.
Web: ASP.NET, jQuery, HTML, CSS
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience of managing and developing staff.
Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions; to code, test, and debug computer programs; and to determine software problems.
Excellent communication and influencing skills
Excellent organization skills and the ability to achieve results within tight deadlines
Ability to read, write, and articulate clearly. Excellent interpersonal skills and superior communication skills are essential.
