Job Summary:Bit9 is building an essential security defense against advance persistent threats and malware. We manage a world class cloud service which our growing list of fortune 1000 customers have grown to depend on. These services enable customers to manage their IT environments by providing valuable intelligence about what software is present on their systems for day to day risk management and allows security specialists to perform cyber forensics on machines that may have been compromised.
We are looking for a talented dev ops engineer to manage, monitor, and scale our infrastructure. We use and rely on cutting edge tools to develop our cloud-hosted platform. The ideal candidate is obsessed with high-availability distributed systems and cannot sleep unless the servers are well-oiled and humming.

Essential responsibilities:
Develop, improve, and maintain the infrastructure management systems behind Bit9?s Cloud Services platform
Manage our deployment, testing, and CI infrastructure
Automate repetitive tasks required to maintain a secure and up to date operational environment
Measure everything, report on interesting, and alert on critical issues
See problems before they impact customers and drive required solutions with urgency
Provide weekly status reports on the operational environment
Available to handle and resolve issues escalated from the production environment on an on-call 24/7/365 as required
Work with the engineering team on capacity planning, system performance & availability requirements
Create and update documentation for operational process, procedures and environment configurations
Qualifications & Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Science or similar field
Experience with Python, Ruby, PowerShell or Bash
5+ years experience as System Admin for customer facing production systems running Windows and Linux
2+ years experience working in data center environments; including 24x7x365 supported environments
Expert administration / configuration of Dell Servers and EqualLogic SAN required
Expert administration / configuration of VMWare ESX Environments required
Expert administration / configuration using Nagios monitoring system
Familiar with server security hardening practices on Windows and Linux
Familiar with DNS, NFS, LDAP, iSCSI, Link Aggregation required
Ability to estimate, plan and execute projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have strong attention to detail
Experience with Amazon AWS based production environments a plus
Familiar with Cisco switches, Citrix Load Balancers preferred
