Be an early and important member of TubeMogul ? an exciting, well-funded and growing startup that solves big problems in the rapidly growing online video market.Our operations team is searching for a Senior Operation Engineer / SRE with strong Linux knowledge to automate the management of hundreds of cloud servers. The operations team leverages some of the most cutting edge technology to simplify an otherwise complex system.
Join a team building a highly scalable system that makes over 100,000+ decisions per second and reports the results in real-time. TubeMogul's PlayTime platform is the first video advertising technology of its kind. It makes real-time decisions about which ads to serve and dynamically adapts to advertiser preferences, user responsiveness, and changes in the marketplace.
Responsibilities:
Build tools to ease infrastructure provisioning and scaling
Monitor and improve service performance and stability
Continuously extend and improve infrastructure components to handle growth
Investigate failures
Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind
Assist our software engineering team to ensure proper monitoring and metrics are being built into the applications before going to production
Required Skills:
Desire to work in a fast paced environment
Experience troubleshooting and deloying application on Linux
Linux Ubuntu/Debian
Bash or other shell
At least one of : Perl, Python, Ruby
Configuration and automation of Nagios and Ganglia
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS (Bind), LDAP (OpenLDAP), NFS, SSH Tunnelling, OpenVPN, Apache httpd 2.x
Apache Hadoop and HBase
Haproxy or any other software load balancer solution
Software Raid with LVM or mdadm
Candidates will be familiar with the technologies we are using but may have not necessarily had the ability to work on them in their current job setting. That's generally ok. However, you should have true passion for technology that is apparent through your previous work. Furthermore, the best candidates are excellent team players as one of the benefits of working at TubeMogul is coming to work with people you can rely on.

Haproxy or any other software loadbalancer solution
Software Raid with LVM or mdadm
Lua and MySQL Proxy

Experience with Amazon AWS (EC2, S3, EBS, EIP)
Couchbase and memcached
Server Virtualization using Eucalyptus, OpenStack or CloudStack
