Who We Want:
The primary responsibilities of this role are 70% managing the revenue function and 30% focus in assisting Controller on reporting, close and analysis.
Manage the revenue recognition, billing, collections and technical revenue accounting issues of a $200M+ Global organization. This highly-visible role will oversee a department of 10 revenue and collections staff, and partner with the sales and sales ops to ensure all revenue-related processes and policies are effective and implemented.
Work directly with the Controller to lead analysis, monthly and quarterly financial review, and collaborate with the Sr. Director, Finance on SEC reporting.
The Senior Director must be able to ensure efficient processes and effective controls are in place and independently manage the department while elevating pertinent issues to the Controller and Sales leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Finance lead in the project to upgrade quoting and order processes
Lead the project to implement ESP and improve our invoicing and revenue recognition processes.
Refresh revenue recognition policies and process
Participate in new product launch processes and related impacts on rev rec, invoicing, etc.
Manage staff and activities associated with revenue, AR, and collection
Review contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment is adhered to, including documenting proper revenue recognition treatment, updating applicable issues, and providing feedback to the team on improvements, process, and any
Evaluate existing and new accounting rules relating to the contracts and recommend appropriate actions and/or procedures
Perform monthly financial reviews with sales leadership and ad hoc analyses to
monitor customer performance
Ensure SOX controls are properly designed, documented and adhered to
Work with the Controller and FP&A team to assist with actual and forecasted
Assist with due diligence and determining proper revenue treatment for any target companies
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role:
8+ years in Controller, Assistant Controller or Revenue leadership role
2+ years managing the order-to-cash cycle
Minimum of 4 years of industry experience after public accounting
Bachelor?s degree in accounting
CPA certification preferred
Experience with SAAS revenue recognition
Developed leadership and management skills, demonstrated ability to build and manage teams of 5+
Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast paced environment
Proficient in all applications of the Microsoft Office suite
Netsuite experience a plus
Salesforce.com experience a plus
