Position Scope
The Senior Director will be responsible for expanding InContext?s client base, and marketing our services to major multi-national companies. Typical business partners include senior executives in market research, shopper insights, and marketing. We are seeking an established business development professional with relationships and experience selling custom research or software within the consumer packaged goods and/or retail industries. Candidates must demonstrate the intellectual and interpersonal skills to form and build partnerships, as well as the commercial acumen to drive profitable relationships. Short term day to day responsibilities include: lead generation and management, sales presentations, proposal development, project scoping, master service agreement design, and onboarding. Long term, the Senior Director will oversee the hiring and management of a team to support business development across a variety of new and existing accounts.
Working with the team Research lead, the Senior Director is responsible for positioning InContext Solutions as a strategic advisor and expert. As such, this individual must maintain a deep understanding of the products and services that InContext Solutions offers, be professional and organized, have excellent follow-up skills, and have a consultative approach to business development. In addition to being an exceptional individual sales performer, the ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be a team player that wants to maximize his or her contribution to both individual and team success.
Job Responsibilities
Grow client base through prospecting, qualifying, overcoming objections and closing accounts
Build a healthy pipeline to achieve and exceed monthly sales target
Lead new client outreach, run sales appointments over the phone and in person
Work with team Research lead to map out annual and quarterly account plans
Maintain a strong understanding of the value of InContext?s products and services
Demonstrate subject matter expertise by researching trends, best practices and reading business publications
Act as a trusted advisor by consulting with key decision makers to understand their critical business issues and developing solutions that quantifies the value delivered by InContext
Lead the cross-functional collaboration of internal teams for prospecting requirements
Initiate and lead the creation of presentations, proposals and master service agreements
Moderate travel
Job Qualifications
Demonstrated success in a consultative sales role
Strong business acumen as it relates to prospective client business issues
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Excellent listening skills, in order to understand prospective client business objectives and issues
Effective presentation creation and delivery skills and confidence in speaking and leading meetings in a large group setting
Strong decision maker with demonstrated ability to develop, execute and implement strategic as well as tactical plans
Demonstrated success as a leader and team player
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize as appropriate
Honors timeline commitments and has an appropriate sense of urgency
Proficiencies with Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com preferred
Ideal candidates will be located in Chicago, we are open to remote candidates or relocation
Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree required
7-10+ years of consultative sales experience
Software or market research sales experience preferred
CPG or retail client relationships a plus
