Overview:
The Senior Director (SD), Business Development is a leader in the Business Development group with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales quotas and mentoring more junior Business Development resources as needed in the field of digital advertising and marketing. The Senior Director, Business Development will work in a collaborative sales environment using acquired skills to creatively seek new digital business opportunities and grow iCrossing market share in a given region.
The SD, BD will have extensive experience presenting a comprehensive suite of digital marketing solutions to the prospective clients across multiple industry verticals. The SD, BD will be effective in utilizing internal resources to mobilize pursuit teams for qualified opportunities. Within the local market, the BD is responsible for coordinating sales outreach, campaigns, and other exposure to identify, negotiate and close opportunities of value added marketing programs for new clients. The SD will also assist in the upselling of assigned client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Qualify inbound opportunities to your specified regional territory based on internal qualification process
Identify high potential target list, develop tailored acquisition strategies and work with the inside sales team to establish relationships with high value targets
Drive the business development process after initial lead to deal closure
Build and manage new client relationships; identify/seek key organizational decision-makers and determine their areas of need
Serve as primary point of contact: control information flow and content, facilitate and drive meetings
Assemble and lead appropriate internal engagement team: define agenda and area(s) of focus
Initiate and devise client solution and proposal ensuing realistic deliverables and profitability
Lead client presentations: set business tone, control meeting flow, delegate/define roles and responsibilities
Understand and anticipate client procurement process
Work with prospect and legal to finalize and get signature on the contract (SOW and MSA)
Build deal pipeline and manage to a corporate financial forecast
Qualifications:
B.S or B.A. degree required; MBA a strong plus
7-10+ years applicable work experience:
Business Development / Sales for an digital company required
Marketing/strategy experience (online and/or offline) highly desirable
Traditional consulting background a strong plus
Online/Offline ad agency experience required
Proven experience in motivating and influencing cross-functional business and technology teams
Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to devise compelling business strategies backed by quantitative analysis/ROI projections
Demonstrated technical skills and ability to understand/present technology based products
Must have demonstrated strong communication skills and presentation abilities
Professional, tenacious and outgoing demeanor
Must be a quick thinker and have the innate ability to intelligently counter objections and propose reality based solutions
Demonstrated outstanding organizational skills: must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deals
Strong execution and follow-up skills
Comprehensive understanding of the techniques of an interactive marketing agency
Proven track record of leading people to achieve strong financial performance and profitability through developing new business opportunities.
Comfort with incentive-based compensation programs: having ?carried a bag? in previous business development roles.
