Senior Director, Business Systems Gilt Groupe

Responsibilities:

Partner with Executives and Senior Management to establish the vision and drive the strategic planning for Gilts applications/systems requirements, providing conceptual and contextual perspective.
Direct the business process and buy vs. build analysis as it relates to application development and/or implementation; perform cost/benefit analysis; manage the RFP process to select the optimal business solution; gain buy-in from management and key stakeholders.
Define the scope, deliverables, and resource plans for all business systems initiatives; create project plans and related project management tools; develop metrics and quality assurance programs to measure value and effectiveness of project execution.
Lead the comprehensive and effective execution of all business systems projects; utilize proper measurement tools to monitor status and report results; drive appropriate resource allocation and performance management; ensure that the project delivers full scope on schedule and within budget.
Staff business systems initiatives as appropriate through direct hires, cross-functional team members and/or outsourced specialists; hire, train, develop, coach and manage the performance of the team.
Drive all implementations and direct rollout activities; develop training strategies to maximize resource capacity, increases operational agility, and provide quality service.
Ensure that the data strategy is flexible to support the current and emerging needs of the business; partner with the business to identify and prioritize opportunities to enhance the quality and access to information to support future business decisions.
Facilitate successful communication and negotiation with customers, vendors, business partners, and IT.
Collaborate with IT and other internal partners to manage systems maintenance and identify enhancement opportunities for existing systems and processes.


Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline
8-10 years of experience driving the ideation/implementation of mission-critical business systems in an inventory-based or ecommerce business.
Expert analysis in build vs. buy for large-scale application/systems implementations.
Exceptional industry knowledge and understanding of emerging trends in technology.
Respected subject matter expert for business systems, software applications and platforms across multiple technologies and functions (e.g. transaction management, risk management, etc.).
Demonstrated understanding of matching business objectives with technical solutions; able to clearly and efficiently capture requirements from the business users.
A successful track record managing the entire RFP, selection and implementation process, including efficient and economical vendor management.
Experienced managing outsourced teams, whether consultants (buy) or developers (build).
Highly developed negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams, maintaining deadlines and building strong working relationships.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills; outstanding presentation skills.
