Senior Director of Engineering, Ad Experience
The Senior Director of Engineering is responsible for development and delivery of high quality applications and tools that meet product requirements in a timely and cost effective manner. The Ad Experience engineering team prototypes, designs, architects, and engineers the visual advertising solutions at SAY Media. This individual must put in place and enhance the engineering infrastructure, processes, and people to meet this responsibility effectively and efficiently. This individual must also work effectively with all other organizations to meet the company business goals and reach a high-level of customer satisfaction. The Sr. Director will be personally responsible for the products and frameworks that deliver nearly 100% of company revenue and will have a direct impact on the success of the business as a result.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and lead a professional and operational software development organization
- Deliver high-quality, scalable applications and tools in a timely and cost effective manner
- Create and maintain deadline-driven processes that ensure excellence
- Work closely with Product Management to define project scope, priorities, and timelines
- Anticipate pitfalls in the development process
- Communicate status of projects to others outside of engineering
- Recruit, develop, retain, lead and mentor engineering talent to build a cohesive and powerful team
- Provide leadership and management in setting organizational priorities that align with business objectives
- Contribute in the growth and evolution of an execution-oriented company culture
- Act as knowledge leader in software development theory and practice
- 10 or more years of software development management experience
- Proven track record of delivering high quality products on time
- Prior experience with development of hosted and web based software applications
- Experience building advertising frameworks, platforms and products a definite plus
- Experience in building and guiding the technological evolution of a product
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate with all levels of employee, from CEO to intern
- Strong process/project management skills, with ability to manage and implement technologies rapidly
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of and experience with Agile software development processes
- Familiar with standard technologies that contribute to multiplatform, distributed, scalable, web-based applications (including HTML, Javascript, Activescript, FLEX, Perl, Python, Django, Hadoop, Hive, SQL, database design)
- Start-up/rapid growth company experience
- Experience growing teams of technical professionals
- Proven track record in software design and development at a senior level
