Senior Director, Operations Flurry

We are looking for a Sr. Director of Operations to lead our rapidly growing Ops team and build the next generation data center infrastructure. This important leader will need to think independently, innovate, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex business and technical problems on all aspects of data center business and information systems. You will be responsible for the vision, strategy, oversight, due diligence, and audits.
You will develop, build, deliver and operate the data center infrastructure essential to Flurry?s business goals involving high-volume online services that are growing at a staggering pace. The director will have operational and budget responsibility for both co-located and internal data centers. The scope of responsibilities will include definition and delivery of mission-critical production services including:
Build, manage, train, and retain a skilled team
Direct and supervise the data center innovation, strategy, architecture, services, and operations that meet the company?s business goals.
Ensure availability, security, and reliability of systems and networks in the production data centers.
Lead and develop short and long term data center vision and strategies.
Lead data center capacity planning
Develop and contribute to department and company customer service plans and goals.
Negotiate service contracts with colocation and service providers.
Direct the operational relationships with vendors and service providers.
Organize global data center service monitoring and incident responses for the production services, and provide direct leadership in the event of service outages.
Work with engineering to maintain and enhance infrastructure and policies for deployment of services and content into the production environment.
Define staff development goals, and applicable performance metrics.
Develop, document, implement, and ensure adherence to operational procedures and expectations.
Partner with engineering leaders, business owners, and helps drive progress on strategic initiatives.
Design and interpret metrics to measure effectiveness of global data center tools.
SOX experience a plus
Minimum of 10 years technical and data center experience.
Minimum of 5 years in a senior management position leading the operation of complex, 24/7 global internet data centers, including technical leadership, budget responsibility, site selection and build-out of large data centers.
BS in Computer Science, or other relevant degree
Ability to influence, train, mentor and leverage the skills of others
Proven track record of data center visionary, innovations and executions.
Operations experience including capacity planning and forecasting, risk management, incident response and recovery, and business continuity.
Outstanding, detail-oriented project and time management skills
Fluency in vendor/contract management, with solid negotiation skills
Proven ability to plan, forecast, and manages financial budgets.
Detailed technical knowledge of Hadoop and HBase is desired.
Operations experience in managing high performance and low latency data centers is a must.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC requirements, physical layouts, networking, backups, monitoring, task automation, and related procedures.
Experience with change, upgrade, and expansion management in live, production data centers.
