Senior Director, Product Marketing Elance

Elance is pioneering a new way to work, helping small businesses level the playing field by providing them with instant access to great talent.The Senior Director of Product Marketing is responsible for bringing the voice of our client and freelancers customers into the company and products. This will be a player/coach role, with direct ownership of strategic marketing initiatives as well as the oversight and team management for the Elance product marketing team. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing our messaging strategy, managing the go-to-market process for key launches and conducting market research to inform our product development and communication priorities. Working in close collaboration with the product and executive teams, you will play a big role in influencing the company?s business strategy and be a key contributor to driving Elance?s success.
Responsibilities:
Own our customer segmentation efforts including research, product positioning and messaging
Lead the go-to-market planning and launch plan execution for new releases
Optimize a multi-channel contact strategy across all touchpoints
Drive PR programs that support our positioning and achieve company goals
Collaborate with the product team to help prioritize new features that will have the most impact
Build a high-performing product marketing team
Qualifications:
10 years of demonstrated success in a consumer or small business focused product-marketing roles
Intellectually curious with a talent for turning data into insights and insights into results
Proven track record of leading cross-functional initiatives with high-energy teams
High comfort level working at both the strategic and tactical levels
Flexible team-first attitude with a sense of humor
Fantastic written and oral communication skills
Previous start-up experience a huge plus
