Job Description
The Sr. Director Software Product Management will provide company-wide leadership for software product strategy and software product management. This leadership role will oversee all application software products including our flagship UIQ and CIQ branded products including AMM, DRM and the tools that go with them. (Gridscape and NEM network management products will be managed by the networking team.) This senior role will drive and orchestrate various business models and other policies related to software which apply to all of Silver Spring?s software offerings; the role will often span strategy and policy for products managed in different Product Management groups.
Key responsibilities:
- Understand customer requirements in our targeted markets
- Lead the core business team around software composed of Product Management, Engineering and Services - also including Sales, Alliances, and others as necessary
- Drive our software value propositions and associated product roadmap
- Create Product Requirements Documents for software products and the associated business plans
- Define pricing and business models for software
- Execute full lifecycle management of the products from concept to launch to end of life
- Select key partners for software
- Create and drive programs for customer adoption of our products
- Lead the creation of a vision for SSN?s software
- Drive creation of software value propositions for customers
- Lead the creation of a product roadmap
- Create market entry, product adoption and revenue growth strategies
- Define go-to-market software strategy via Product Marketing partnership
- Define partner strategy for software partnering with Alliance managers
- Define success program with milestones
- Secure market-making reference customers
- Lead and manage software product management team
Required Experience
- 10-15 years industry experience
- 5+ Software Product Management experience creating business models, pricing, forecasting, driving products to launch, software partnering, and negotiations
- Results-oriented - able to focus cross-functional teams on achieving common goals, manage competing priorities, and balance strategy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of regular interface with senior leaders inside and outside the company
- Team player with demonstrated leadership skills and experience
- Prefer marketing, SAS, cloud software experience
- Bachelor?s degree, MBA preferred
