Responsibilities:
Directs the strategic planning, development and delivery of commercial business analytics for Horizon Pharmaceuticals to inform, facilitate and drive key business decision making and guide global forecasting.
Leads the Commercial Analytics team in the planning, development and delivery of strategic opportunity analysis and market research including researching and assessing markets, market trends, companies, products and related opportunities, market assessment and forecasting, market tracking, new product and new business development opportunities, ad hoc custom research, competitive intelligence, etc.
Directs the ongoing evaluation of new sources of data that will enhance the company?s ability to analyze, evaluate, utilize and manage commercial data.
Serves as internal consultant/leader and partners with Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, Finance, Regulatory and Medical Affairs, etc. to ensure effective cross-functional communication and alignment on commercial analytics and insights.
Establishes and directs process to provide information and intelligence to drive critical business decisions. Identifies and recommends appropriate marketing research studies and analysis needed to support the successful commercialization, current and future, of proprietary products.
Collaborates with other Horizon teams in the identification and evaluation of Business Development opportunities. Provides recommendations for appropriate research and analysis necessary to make sound decisions in support of transactions.
Oversees the management of research agencies, consultants and budgets.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
BA/BS in related field, MBA preferred.
8+ years in the pharmaceutical industry. 3+ years in a Market Research leadership role managing a team of market research and analytics professionals.
Proven track record within the Pharmaceutical industry in commercial analytics/market research.
Highly proficient analytical skills and extensive software applications experience.
Advanced experience in the technical design and execution of complex market research studies including discrete choice, conjoint and other sophisticated quantitative modeling techniques and tools.
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, identify key issues, opportunities, and value drivers, and effectively translate strategic insights into an appropriate analytical framework to drive business decisions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
