Acquia is looking for a senior Drupal developer to support web development initiatives in a fast-paced, short-deadline, high pressure work environment. The web developer will support the agency?s digital strategy needs while working with a larger development team to incorporate development efforts.Summary:
The web developer will:
Develop new features under tight deadlines
Provide innovative ideas and solutions to the client that meet the goals, increase engagement, can be developed in short time periods, and support the ongoing sustainability, security and other government considerations.
Work with new and emerging technologies for online engagement and support integration with the Drupal CMS
Utilize advanced knowledge of JavaScript, Drupal/PHP development, and experience developing and maintain features based on web APIs to develop innovative and effective solutions to help the government better engage with citizens.
Support the evaluation, maintenance and development of Drupal applications
Provide quick, effective, and innovative solutions to reach the general public, communicate the administration?s messages, and engage citizens via web pages, microsites, webforms, RSS feeds, and other web features presenting content and documents.
Support the integration of administration content into social media by developing tools that allow users to effectively share specific pages, features and content
Utilize advanced HTML writing and editing skills, advanced knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and intermediate knowledge of JavaScript to support web publishing needs.
Job Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance
Must be a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced work environment
This is a full-time on-site position located in NW Washington, DC.
Strong written and verbal communications required
Advanced HTML markup, formatting and presentation using CSS, and JavaScript skills
Experience developing and scaling high performance sites strongly preferred.
Experience monitoring performance on high volume sites and optimizing for performance preferred.
3-5 years of Drupal experience
Experience with Section 508 Compliance preferred
