Description
Principal Responsibilities and Duties:
Note: The following is meant to be representative but not necessarily all inclusive of the duties and responsibilities for this position title.
Work collaboratively with Pegasus engineering team in the design and implementation of the System Computer Board and Power Conditioning and Distribution PCBAs.
Perform analyses as appropriate (e.g., PSPICE, power calculations, etc.) to support design choices.
Prepare, present, and document design reviews.
Perform schematic capture of designs.
Manage layout of PCBA designs (anticipating use of external resources)
Prepare and release component specifications, BOMs, and fab and assembly drawings.
Work with Mechanical Engineers to define PCBA packaging and mounting requirements.
Prepare materials and conduct technical reviews of designs as appropriate.
Work with purchasing to select commercial vendors. Request quotes and prepare purchase orders for components and assemblies related to designs.
Design for manufacturability, assembly, and test.
Create verification plans for designs, manage testing, and document results.
Document ECO changes within Zeltiq Document Control.
Perform all duties in compliance with FDA?s Quality System Regulation (QSR), ISO13485, the Canadian Medical Device Regulations, and all other international regulatory requirements with which ZELTIQ complies
Experience, Education, and Training:
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
At least ten years of product design and development experience
At least five years of experience in medical devices, ideally Class II devices.
Experience designing microprocessor-based electronics (preferably employing SBC modules), with the following interfaces/functions: high resolution display (HDMI, LVDS, DVI interfaces), WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet, USB host and device ports, serial (UART) connections, and SmartCard interface.
Experience designing mains-connected power control and distribution circuitry for power levels up to 800W (90 ? 264 VAC, 50/60Hz), including selection and/or design of secondary DC supplies (12V or 24V).
Experience with power factor correction, mains voltage auto-sensing and control, line-patient isolation, and AC switching to peripheral devices strongly preferred.
Candidate should be a strong team player with the demonstrated abilities and willingness to wear ?multiple hats? and perform a wide range of tasks within a dynamic environment.
Skills
Individual must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be proficient with OrCAD
Familiarity with Altium and PSPICE strongly preferred.
