Description: We are looking for a talented and motivated Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer to develop, integrate, and enhance L2/L3 Networking Protocols for networking equipment. The successful candidates should have demonstrated ability to specify, code, test, deliver and support software. In this role, you will work closely with marketing and support during development and communicate with management and marketing on schedules, priorities and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test and deliver embedded Linux software and new features from conception to release
Work with software engineer team to solve difficult design and development issues
Assist members from QA, Engineering and Support teams to troubleshoot and debug software related issues
Actively participate in monitoring and troubleshooting production platform issues
Required Skills:
Minimum 5 years of software development experience
2+ years hands-on Linux kernel network programming experience
Experience with networking stacks and routing protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, RIPv2, BGP, etc)
Experience with L2 switching protocols (VLAN)
Experience with Linux embedded systems with limited RAM and flash memory
Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills
Experience with PCI bus, kernel optimization and debugging tools like logic analyzers and gdb
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and teamwork skills
Knowledge of additional protocols including Frame Relay and MPLS
Knowledge of IPSEC VPN and Linux Firewall is a plus
