What you?ll do
As a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for all phases of software development targeting embedded systems, including design, coding, integration, and debugging of major portions of software projects such as embedded web services, device drivers, communications protocols, and other embedded software applications.
How you?ll do it
Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Capable of designing products so that it is easy to manufacture and maintain.
Able to assist with board bring-up and hardware troubleshooting
Assist development of applications and drivers for operating systems such as Linux/BSD and embedded systems RTOS?s and develop board support packages for new hardware platforms
Design and develop organized, easy to read software source code in C and assembly for embedded systems (preferably MIPS). Develop applications using industry standard technologies such as object oriented design, open source and portable development.
Create object libraries, applications, daemons and drivers deployed inside embedded hardware devices to create and maintain a SDK.
Experience in developing applications for Linux operating systems as well as kernel/SDK debugging skills are a must.
What you?ll need
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree or may have a Master of Science degree, in a technical discipline from a four year college or university.
Equivalent combination of education & experience
Employees entering this job typically have five to eight years of directly related experience in embedded systems design and development with a demonstrated record of leadership
Experience working closely with Hardware architects is a plus.

Provide expertise and transform concepts and ideas into specifications, requirements, and product architecture for the next generation system solutions.
Systems integration between software, firmware and hardware.
Design and execute system level design validation tests.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of cross functional and related technical areas such as software quality techniques, software configuration management and release management.
Research for upcoming projects and presentation of findings to corporate leadership and integrate results into team technical strategy.
Prepare, present and lead peer to peer and cross functional design review meetings.
