Senior Field Deployment Engineer:
As a Field Deployment Engineer in the Vantrix Operations team, you will be responsible for the planning & deployment of Vantrix products at our customer?s facilities. You will be reporting to the Sr. Director, Solutions Architecture.
? Write system specifications, upgrade procedures and test plans.
? On-site or remote product installation, configuration, integration and acceptance testing support.
? Prepare for and perform on-site and/or remote installations/upgrades of Vantrix product software and relevant third party products leading to acceptance.
? Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
?Perform network analysis and decoding of TCP/IP and data stacks in troubleshooting scenarios
?Prepare and provide on-site training
?Verification of the intended customer use-case, business logic and traffic flows.
?Be the point of contact of the team to do the triage of the problem tickets and to answer internal questions from the team before requesting the help of the engineering group.
?Provide the effort estimates of the specific deployment tasks in preparation of the new projects.
?Participate actively at the tests of the new software versions before deploying them to the customers (FOA/GA) and train the team on the delta with previous version.
?Train new deployment engineers.
Qualifications & Experience
? Minimum 5+ years experience.
? Cisco CCNA-LAN certification or equivalent required.
? Minimum of University degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
? Experience in implementing carrier-grade client-server applications in a commercial environment
?Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them to development and product management teams
?Knowledge of messaging products (SMSC, MMSC, gateways).
?Understanding of the operating environment and requirements of mobile operators.
Ability to produce and deliver technical presentations to customers and fellow engineers
?Expertise in configuring and installing Cisco switches, routers and F5 load balancers
?Good knowledge of LAN network infrastructure: security, routing, network management, performance management
?Broad understanding of mobile network infrastructure (2.5 and 3G, GPRS, UMTS)
?Knowledge of Network protocols for video streaming, an asset
Skills and Competencies
? Must possess excellent time management, organizational and communication skills (internal and customer facing communication).
? Working knowledge of UNIX including installing and configuring products to run on UNIX based systems, trouble-shooting applications running on UNIX, and scripting (bash, pyhton, perl, lua).
?Ability to troubleshoot in Linux OS (RedHat/CentOS)
?Deep knowledge of mobile VAS platforms and IT systems, especially SMS/MMS/WAP.
?Knowledge of standards and technologies related to mobile data services and knowledge of Internet standards and protocols.
?Knowledge about SMS & MMS protocols.
?Deep knowledge of TCP/IP networks, and excellent skills designing, configuring and troubleshooting IP networks (LAN, VLAN, Routes, Switches, Load-Balancers).
?Able to provide presentations in front of customer
