Senior Financial Analyst Northern Power Systems
Department: Corporate Finance & Accounting
Reporting to: Vice President, Finance
Summary
The Senior Financial Analyst provides reporting and analysis for both business units, Distributed Wind and Northern Power Systems Technologies (NPST), and all corporate functions. He/she will work closely with the accounting and IT teams to prepare monthly financial reports and analysis for business and functional leaders, the corporate staff and the Board of Directors. They play a lead role in preparing all budgets and forecasts including trend and variance analysis. He/she will also support a number of key projects and business initiatives including operational cost reductions, R&D projects, and financial system improvements. The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Vice President of Finance.
Responsibilities
Financial reporting and analysis for the Distributed Wind and NPST businesses, and all corporate functions
Prepare and review monthly financial reports including detailed trend and variance analysis with business and functional leaders
Finance lead to the NPST leadership team providing direct financial support in managing the day to day operations
Prepare financial presentations for review with corporate executives and the Board of Directors
Champion the execution of the corporation?s annual OP Plan process
Support the forecasting process for the business units and all corporate functions
Work closely with Accounting and IT to continuously improve automated financial reporting tools
Provide financial support for key business initiatives including operational cost reductions, R&D projects, and financial system improvements
Perform other financial reporting and analysis functions as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
2-5 years of financial analysis and/or accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing business
Intellectual horsepower as evidenced by strong analytical skills and ability
Advanced Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well independently and as part of a cross-functional team
Organization and time management skills, ability to handle multiple-priorities and meet critical deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA) and/or certifications (CPA, CMA, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and FRx reporting
Project management experience including design and implementation of new financial systems
