The corporate FP&A team coordinates all global financial planning activities. The team provides financial reports and analysis to senior executives, working closely with leaders, analysts from the business channels and shared functions, as well as across the finance/accounting organization.
The team has been built its own proprietary financial reporting and planning tools using a combination of Access, SQL and other advanced Excel add-ins. The team also evaluates alternative or additional tools and solutions for finance or cross-functional processes to be more efficient and scalable for future growth.

The team consists of more senior financial analysts as well as software engineers and is located in our Corporate office in Kansas City. This position would report to the Director of FP&A.
In this highly visible role, you will provide financial analysis for senior executives and play an important role in the compilation and review of month-end results, as well as budgets and forecasts. This visibility includes frequent interaction with the CFO and other finance and business leaders. In this role, technology and process innovations will be key to delivering superior FP&A support. Primary duties include:
Maintain proprietary finance system: Work with accounting to ensure system accurately represents accounting general ledger data, supports all internal/external reporting and reconciliation requirements, has adequate controls, and operates in a stable and efficient manner.
Contribute to ongoing finance system development and evaluation: Seek to understand the needs of users and make recommendations for solution designs and approach; assist in development and implementation.
Contribute to the preparation and coordination that occurs to complete monthly and quarterly reports for executives and the board
Participate in overall budgeting, forecasting and capital budgeting process: In addition to supporting planning tools and coordinating the collection of inputs, partner to support P&L owners in building and/or evaluating plans submitted by other teams for reasonableness. Assist in the production of weekly forecasts for executive management.
Enhanced business results analysis: Develop analytical solutions for understanding results and business fluctuations. Build easy-to-use flexible models to perform scenario analysis.
Process efficiency: Identify process improvement opportunities, both across finance as well as cross-functionally, and work to implement solutions.
System solutions: Utilize system solutions, when effective, to solve problems and increase efficiency.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring and confident leader with at least:
Minimum five years of experience in a combination of finance or accounting roles, with a focus on financial reconciliation, reporting, planning, and analysis.
Preferably, two years in an FP&A capacity, or in similar financial roles providing analysis and solutions to management and coordinating financial activities across functions or organizations.
Experience working with reporting and/or ledger systems, with a proven ability to extract data or build/customize reports for use for management reporting or financial analysis.
Experience using technology to increase reporting or planning efficiency and accuracy.
Experience analyzing data and preparing or presenting financial data to management.
Experience with business process improvement and problem resolution.
Expert proficiency in Excel; professional or academic experience using Access, SQL or some other database management tool or scripting language such as Visual Basic; proficiency with Word and Power Point.
