Main areas of responsibility:
Review reconciliations, journal entries and other accounting work depending on the subject matter and preparer.
Assist the Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager and Corporate Controller in reviewing and communicating significant transactions and agreements to identify key elements impacting accounting or financial statement presentation. Prepare technical calculations, abstracts of contracts and agreements and updates as required.
Facilitate the monthly close and complete the tasks assigned such as FASB ASC 718, Compensation-Stock Compensation calculations, review of foreign currency transactions, and review of consolidated financial statements.
Assist with financial audits, prepare audit schedules and interface with external auditors.
Assist the Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager with the on-going design and implementation of the procedures that will ensure compliance with the standards set forth in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
Assist the Financial Reporting and Compliance Manager with special projects as needed.
Professional Skills Required:
BS or MS in Accounting
CPA designation or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 3 years in public accounting, Big 4 experience preferred.
Skills & Abilities Required:
Understanding of US GAAP and ability to do accounting research to find solutions to accounting issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint.
Experience with Oracle ERP systems, Oracle FSG/Discover and/or Hyperion a plus.
Candidate must work well in a dynamic environment, work independently, handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and have excellent organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
SEC reporting experience preferred.
Creative and strategic thinking person with strong interpersonal skills, sense of humor, ability to contribute to our culture.
Ability to work cohesively with multiple people in a team environment.
Able to work under pressure in a fast paced team environment.
