The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in designing and developing high quality standards-based web applications in HTML/JavaScript/CSS. Candidates must thrive in a start-up environment and possess maturity and business savvy. The successful candidate will be part of a small but talented engineering team, building next generation Rich Media Experiences using Java EE, jQuery, HTML5, and FLEX.
Responsibilities:
Be a part of agile/scrum team for the Webcasting platform;
Build web applications optimized for mobile and tablet devices using the new HTML5 and related standards (e.g., CSS3, SVG);
Enhance scalability and reliability of existing applications;
Train and mentor junior colleagues in building standards-based web applications;
Required Skills:
Self-starting, proactive, positive, creative, and flexible;
5+ years of JavaScript programming experience;
4+ years of CSS
4+ years of hands-on JQuery experience;
Expert-level experience with AJAX and JSON;
Working knowledge of other JavaScript libraries and frameworks (e.g., Dojo, ExtJs, YUI, JavaScriptMVC, Backbone.js);
Working knowledge of new HTML5 technologies;
Past hands-on experience with building web applications for mobile devices;
Firsthand experience of various performance issues and optimization techniques in a typical browser;
Discipline to document ideas and code in a clear, comprehensive, and organized manner;
Optional Skills:
A web-based Mobile App development framework (Sencha Touch, PhoneGap)
Basic knowledge of Java server-side programming (e.g., JSP/Servlets/EJB);
Jabber/XMPP Protocol.
Other Requirements:
References from previous employers are a must.
Must be passionate about building beautiful, usable interfaces
Understands cross-browser, event driven UI
Wants to work with both mobile and desktop experiences
