The Senior General Ledger Accountant reports to the Controller/ VP of Finance and is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely generation of the financial statements and management reports. This position serves as a planner, leader, communicator, internal consultant, and business partner to senior management, working under defined deadlines and performing a diverse set of accounting activities including journal entry preparation, month-end close, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, tax reporting, payroll review, and treasury management.

Senior General Ledger Accountant - Responsibilities and Duties:
Prepare accurate, complete, and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP that are compliant with internal policies.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet account reconciliations and journal entries to accurately reflect relevant activity.
Prepare work-papers supporting the monthly close process, month-end balances, annual tax return, and annual financial statement audits.
Review and reconcile monthly revenue.
Review and reconcile monthly costs of goods sold.
Assist in preparation of monthly management financial reporting and accompanying schedules
Assist in preparation of schedules and payment of federal, property, sales and use, and franchise tax returns
Maintain employee stock compensation detail and period expenses.
Calculate monthly and quarterly sales commissions and quarterly bonuses.
Perform technical research, as needed, regarding the handling of accounting and reporting transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Participate with the Controller, senior management, and the accounting team on special projects (e.g., M&A activities), workflow process improvements, and special reporting requests.
Requirements:
BS in Accounting or Business Administration required.
CPA required, as well as a solid understanding of current GAAP.
2-4 years of relevant accounting experience
Robust analytical skills and ability to work with a large volume of data.
Demonstrated aptitude for evaluating priorities and multi-tasking accordingly to meet deadlines is essential.
Highly detail-oriented, organized team player with strong communication skills.
Proficient with NetSuite or another mid-tier ERP system as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience with SQL a plus.
