Essential Job Description:
This Senior Hardware Design Engineer takes a lead role in the design, development, and testing of all applicable hardware for new product development. Primary responsibilities include electronic circuit design, hardware schedule and task development, S&Q testing, achieving safety compliance and EMC, expert troubleshooting, documentation, schematic entry, PCB layout, expert-level contribution to design reviews, contract manufacturer technical support, and mentoring less-experienced technical staff. Secondary responsibilities include support for sustaining products, text fixture support, and part approvals.
Experience/Qualifications:
BSEE or equivalent, MSEE a plus.
Minimum 10 years of direct experience in mixed signal electronic hardware design.
5+ years working directly with remote/overseas design and manufacturing teams.
Expertise in mixed-signal circuit/system design, PCB layout, and bench validation/troubleshooting.
Ability to design products to specific functionality and cost targets.
Ability to clearly document design decisions and maintain change logs.
Ability to independently develop high-quality electrical designs for high-volume manufacturing processes.
Ability to read schematics and other technical documents.
Ability to independently develop and execute accurate project schedules.
Thorough understanding of Agile.
Musical background is a plus.
Skills Required:
Strong analog design skills with good understanding of mixed-signal systems design.
Outstanding problem solving and technical leadership skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Expertise in PADS software is a major plus.
Must be proficient with Word, Excel and CAD programs.
Skilled in operating all standard test equipment used for electrical engineering testing and development.
