Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources the Senior Human Resources Generalist (SHRG) will be a strategic partner to the business. The incumbent will be responsible for aligning the business objectives with employees and management in designated areas of responsibility. The SHRG serves as a consultant to employees and management on human resource related issues. Successful SHRG will act as a business advisor and change agent. SHRG assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, the SHRG seeks to develop integrated solutions. The SHRG formulates partnerships with management to deliver value added services that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The SHRG may include international human resource responsibilities. The SHRG maintains an effective level of business literacy about the organization, its financial position, its mid range plans, its culture and its competition.
Duties & Responsibilities
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity.
Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development of departmental procedures; prepares and maintains country specific employee handbooks and policies and procedure manuals.
Participates in developing department goals, objectives, systems and budgets.
Implements, administers and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; analyzes compensation; monitors performance evaluation programs and revises as necessary.
Implements, administers and annually updates benefit programs; performs benefit administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and resolving employee questions.
Conducts recruitment and on-boarding effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students and temporary employees.
Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.
Provides human resources policy guidance and interpretation.
Provide guidance and input on department/division restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Identify training needs for departments/division and individual manager coaching needs.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and international regulations concerning employment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills Required
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Business or Human Resources or equivalent degree. SPHR strongly preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a generalist role with increasing responsibilities.
Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including compensation and benefits practices, organizational development, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
Excellent project management and business literacy skills.
Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint software skills.
Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus, simple reporting.
Ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities.
An articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization, understands issues domestically and internationally and possesses excellent communication skills.
Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
Be flexible and available to interact with employees at all levels regardless of geographic location.
Be self directed and motivated
Take initiative to identify and anticipate business needs and make recommendations for implementation.
