The Senior NetIQ IAM (Web Services) Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and managing the technical components required for delivering on the IAM Architect?s vision for Identropy clients. This includes design and development of IAM processes and performance against a technical plan. The Senior IAM Engineer will also seek opportunities to identify and mentor less experienced members of the Identropy engineering team. In addition, Senior IAM Engineers will be accountable for identifying efficiency-generating opportunities such as new IAM architecture, component, or agile programming models while leveraging client success.
Responsible for leading and creating Identity & Access Management (IAM) technical delivery of IAM components (i.e. IAM Connectors) for Identropy clients. Connectors include solutions for authentication, authorization, identity provisioning, role based access control, physical security, and audit and monitoring solutions.
Responsible for ensuring appropriate collection and analysis of technical functional requirements based on critical client IAM use cases and expectations.
Responsible for generating client delivery documentation such as technical requirement design documents, Visio diagrams, and technical component presentations.
Ensures technical strategy alignment of standard client SDLC (System Development Life Cycles) to Identropy project execution frameworks.
Works closely with project IAM Architect or Practice Manager to identify key IAM technical components as aligned to project requirements, assist in prioritizing development efforts, catalog IAM component to project requirements, and assign them to project use cases and sprints.
Conducts in depth technical IAM research, needs assessments and performance analysis to support, design, and develop new technical IAM components for clients.
Identifies client?s technical stakeholders, and provides effective training and mentoring to maximize leadership and consulting effectiveness, client learning and overall project team productivity.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate will have most if not all of the following:
5+ years? experience in integrating security and IAM products with common identity stores (LDAP, relational databases, application servers, virtual directory servers, and/or physical access management systems.)
At least 3 years previous consulting experience
3+ years of experience with writing Novell/NetIQ IDM PRDs (workflows)
Experience with production deployment and configuration of NetIQ IDM roles and resources for entitlement control.
Experience with production deployment and configuration of the NetIQ IDM4 reporting system, Novell/NetIQ Sentinel, Novell Identity Audit, and/or Novell Audit.
Experience with production deployment of Novell/NetIQ Access Manager including:
Kerberos integration with AD for SSO
Integration with Identity Manager
Knowledge and experience with web-services (SOAP, REST, etc.) integrations between various systems for provisioning, data exchange, workflow integration, etc.
Motivation to learn and seek guidance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Training and Mentoring
Discover and proactively learn what IAM products and product features are currently demanded or will be demanded by clients and communicate to Identropy Practice Managers.
Identify training and mentoring opportunities for Jr. IAM Engineers.
Assist Practice Managers in developing internal training materials based on project execution and product experience.
Stay current on vendor training opportunities and communicate training requirements to Practice and Engagement Managers.
Facilitate knowledge sharing amongst less experienced practice members, including setting precedence as a role model for knowledge sharing (?practice what you preach?).
Productivity & Throughput
Meet technical quality control standards for projects within the practice.
Assist Service Manager in staying on time and on scope with technical work tasks.
Perform as architect/engineer on projects within the practice when necessary to boost project productivity and versatility.
Ensures client billable time is logged into time and expense system every other weekday. Expenses should be logged on a weekly basis.
Candidates meeting some of these criteria, but with a significant interest and aptitude to learn these skills will also be considered.
