About the Job
We are currently seeking a Senior Instructor for Nexant?s Chemicals and Energy Training Courses. The position has important input in the delivery and administration of training courses on commercial and technical aspects of the oil, gas, chemical, petrochemical and cleantech sectors. The candidate will deliver courses in either public forum or as a custom in-house course for private companies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide support to the Training Director to develop goals and objectives to achieve long-term success.
Coordinate and actively participate in the organization and delivery of content, as well as marketing and business development of the training courses
Train other course instructors and supporting staff
Develop training courses in additional areas of expertise not currently covered in Nexant?s Training courses
Liaise with the Training Director and Nexant?s regional managers and consultants to ensure effective and efficient course delivery
Assist in the annual business plan review and produce the appropriate marketing and sales plans, content development plans, resource plans, etc.
Undertake periodic program evaluation to incorporate client feedback and identify areas of improvement
University Degree in engineering, chemistry, economics or related topic. An advanced degree (Masters, PhD, MBA) is a plus
Broad knowledge of the industry structure and product chains in the chemical, petrochemical and energy sectors. Good understanding of interactions between technology, economics and markets
Minimum of 15-20 years? experience within the industry with a specific technical, commercial or strategic focus in the petroleum and chemical/petrochemical sectors
Significant experience organizing and delivering training courses
Excellent presentation skills, both in-person and e-learning
Previous experience in lecturing/teaching is a plus
Focus on anticipating, understanding and responding to client needs
Demonstrable leadership, business development and project management skills
Excellent verbal communication skills in English
Positive and flexible attitude
Availability to travel to domestic and potentially international destinations
Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness
IT skills including word processing, Excel and PowerPoint
