We seek a seasoned, high functioning superstar to be a Senior Interaction Designer. The Senior Interaction Designer will work directly for the Director, Design and will manage high profile design projects across all Knewton products. You are the users? advocates throughout the product development process, and will work in partnership with product and engineering management to create great products. You will take a user-centric and metric driven approach to developing more engaging experiences. You will work closely with Knewton management, content, data science, design, and technology teams. This is a critical role that requires consideration for long-term product quality while moving fast and fluidly within an agile environment to help ship, tweak, and iterate on product quickly and efficiently.
-Conduct user research and create user personas
-Gather product requirements
-Create interaction frameworks, design wireframes, build prototypes
-Conduct usability tests
-Analyze product usage, both quantitatively and qualitatively, and work with product and engineering management to iterate on products to drive key metrics
-7+ years of experience designing exceptional interaction flows and user interfaces for digital products and services.
-Experience working in-house with cross-functional product development teams in agile environments for consumer product companies.
-Experience with designing complex applications.
-Excellent portfolio of work.
-Solution oriented approach; understands goals and needs, seamlessly manages input and feedback, and moves product development forward by creating designs that meet the user?s needs
-Expert prototyping proficiency (Axure or equivalent) and a functional understanding of X/HTML, CSS, Web Standards.
-Strong ability to assimilate and synthesize disparate feedback.
-Ability to concisely communicate in a high pressure environment? verbally, written, and visually.
-Ability to function confidently in an agile development environment.
-Ability to present designs and strategy to small and large groups, both internal and external.
-Scrupulous attention to detail.
-Ability to be nimble and flexible in a deadline-driven environment.
