The Inventory Control Manager is meticulous, well organized, driven, problem solver, a quick study, proficient in the mechanics of material control, and a customer advocate who buys into the premise that inventory management is the heart of an operation. Global accountability for perpetual inventory record accuracy, inbound logistics, material transactions, timely over/short/discrepant resolution, and all Inventory metrics. Review and analyze inventory KPIs on a continuous basis to ensure accuracy levels are met in conjunction with working directly with department heads to address operational roadblocks impacting their success. A leadership role in identifying and executing inventory control initiatives across SafeNet, including all affiliates within the AMER, EMEA and APAC, working with various departments and functions to ensure process efficiencies, reducing cycle count variances through effective RCCA, and ensuring financial and SOX compliance through the entire material life cycle. A ?hands-on? leader possessing strategic skills to advance the department as well as tactical awareness to ensure daily operations are performed to expectations. This role is required to drive excellent execution in the areas of Inventory Accuracy, accountable for and ensuring 98% inventory accuracy and transactional compliance for all SafeNet stocking locations globally.
Must promote teamwork, accountability, a strong sense of urgency, demonstrate the highest integrity, and challenge convention to improve Quality, Delivery and Cost.
This role is responsible for overseeing inventory integrity for world-wide SafeNet. Works directly with other department heads to ensure all operational processes provide a high degree of inventory accuracy, working in an out sourced environment with manufacturing partners and 3PL service providers. Manage the relationships with our world-wide DOF and 3PL partners as related to inventory management and controls, maintaining adherence to company policies and procedures, and compliance to government regulations. Design, develop and implement inventory control processes and systemic tools to increase process efficiencies while maintaining high inventory accuracy levels, including consigned and VMI, data mining to uncover savings prospects and service improvements. Ensure service providers remain in compliance with MSA/SOW guidelines, recommending changes for efficiency, cost control, and policy standardization.
This role is also responsible for partnering with a global team of professionals who plan, perform and implement process improvement initiatives across operations for all SafeNet products. Additionally, will identify process gaps, provide detailed reports, and maintain Daily Management KPI related to OSD, MRB, E&O Aging, Scrap, and inventory record accuracy.
?Bachelor or the equivalent in combined education and professional experience required.
?Minimum 10 years inventory management, consistently demonstrating successful inventory integrity. Fully outsourced a plus.
?5-7 years in a fast-paced organization, technology or similar preferred.
?Supervisory/management level position(s).
?Success in implementing Lean methodologies and tools a plus.
?Demonstrated ability establishing and maintaining work teams.
?Oracle Enterprise Resource System proficiency is mandatory. WMS system experiences a plus.
?Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
?Superior organizational skills; ability to set priorities, and maintain multiple initiatives.
?Demonstrated understanding of lean principals in material control, 3PL, DOF and VMI.
?Ability to identify and implement best practices and corrective actions where applicable.
?Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high-tech, multi culture environments.
?Solid critical thinking, analytical and structured problem solving skills.
?Excellent oral/written communication skills. Technical writing skills a plus.
?Ability to form strong team-based relationships, including across business units with internal customers.
?Ability to travel, including internationally, for periods of 1- 2 weeks without returning home.
?Computer proficiency, including the Microsoft Office suite, Oracle and other applications in WMS, and inventory management.
?High energy level and high degree of self-motivation.
?Six Sigma, Lean, TPS training preferred.
?CPIM certification a plus.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
?Ensure material controls are in place and are precisely executed for world-wide SafeNet owned inventory within SafeNet Fulfillment Centers, including execution by our third parties.
?Execute inventory count adjustments and material movements for the Americas as required, after appropriate validation and approvals, in accordance with SOX, Finance and SafeNet standards.
?Run periodic Manufacturing WIP Variance reports, detecting discrete job variances and material impact, work with Finance to correctly resolve, escalate to CIS for system evaluation and trouble resolution.
?Full ownership for Cycle Count and Physical Inventory activities globally. Validation of cycle count results, onsite supervision and ownership of yearend full physical inventory, variance reconciliation and support for Finance, timely/accurate inventory KPI and reports.
?Drive initiatives to eliminate the need for Physical Inventory through consistently meeting inventory KPI, and achieving all objectives as defined by financial auditors.
?Hold our third parties accountable for meeting established goals and metrics related to inventory accuracy, validating their root cause and corrective actions to improve performance. Standardize third party reporting and OSD escalation process.
?Provide global oversight of non-conforming material, maintaining appropriate cost and aging KPI for MRB, Scrap, RTV, and Rework. Ensure timely execution of material disposition, escalating any delays that impact inventory valuation.
?Validate controls to ensure non-conforming material is physically separate from A and B stock. Provide oversight and ensure controls for auditable inventory adjustments in accordance with SOX, Finance and SafeNet standards.
?Manage the world-wide SafeNet B-Class inventory, providing periodic reports on stock levels for use in E&O activities, and implementing Kanban Replenishment in support of RMA Plus Plan liability.
?Foresee and mitigate issues. Evaluate all phases of material transactions and ensure defined systems and tools will guarantee successful inventory accuracy internally and at our third parties. Implement improvements to processes and systems to improve controls and results.
?Recommend fulfillment policies and define processes and work instructions to ensure consistency, quality, Sarbanes Oxley, and Trade & Transportation compliance.
?Ensure smooth, timely implementation of all new programs, processes, including material control / freight & transportation processes, policies and training of our third party service providers.
