Gemvara is seeking an experienced Java Software Developer to join our innovative team of me-commerce revolutionaries. As a Java Software Developer you will be responsible for the development of the core e-commerce platform. You may also be tasked with firing the occasional Nerf gun or finding comics to add to the xkcd wall.
Gemvara uses EJB3 with Hibernate on JBoss, SQL, MySQL, Apache SOLR and UNIX/Linux platforms. While we are always looking for the best and brightest, we do not hire solely on a specific skill set. Rather, we hunger for new ideas so if you think you would do it differently, we?re open and interested.
What You?ll Be Doing:
Gemvara's patented technology and just-in-time manufacturing offers customers millions of options to personalize each design. We have a true virtual inventory model where each piece is manufactured to order at the highest possible quality. The technical challenges in product development are significant, including navigating a world of user-generated content. We are building an e-commerce product set that is unique to the industry.

Skills & Experience You?ll Need To Succeed:
Hands-on experience developing a core Java-based e-commerce platform;
A strong desire to work in a collaborative environment;
Experience with an iterative software development methodology;
Experience developing high volume, thread safe, high performance applications;
The ability to communicate and be a great teammate;
The capacity to think like an owner;
