We are Liquidnet?s Business Intelligence team. What does that mean?
We are responsible for helping Liquidnet grow by leveraging its data for all aspects of its business.

Our reporting and data analysis platform is built thorough Cognos and Oracle Data Warehouse. This platform is leveraged across the firm for customer management, revenue generation and operational efficiency.
Our end-user alerting product utilizes state of the art web and CEP technologies and relies heavily on open source solutions. The stack is built on Backbone.js, jQuery, SASS, and Groovy on Grails backed by Java data services that run on Jetty, Groovy on Grails, Spring, and Hibernate with Oracle as data store. We also leverage Esper as our real-time alert engine.
The Role
We are looking for you to transform the way Liquidnet leverages financial market data by helping us unify our Business Intelligence applications and expand our services and offerings to multiple applications across the company, both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
Work jointly with multiple developers across the firm to develop a Business Intelligence Service that allows both push and pull of Business Intelligence Assets, such as alerts, data assets, and reports.
Cultivate and drive a revenue-generating product; participating in all aspects of the software development lifecycle including product design, architecture and system design development, testing, deployment, and support.
Work jointly with multiple developers to implement a Real Time Alerting application that ingest alerts generated by Esper and distribute them to multiple internal and external applications for presentation.
Work with multiple developers to extend the functionality of Cognos as enterprise wide reporting platform.
Work with BAs, Designers, Testers, Sales people, Subject Matter Experts, System Admins, and others in a cross-functional team.
Qualifications/Skills
Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
Must have 3-5 years of strong Java Development Experience.
Strong object-oriented design and methodology.
Must have 3-5 years of strong Relational Database Experience (Oracle preferred).
Experience developing Java Web Services.
Experience constructing a MVC website using Groovy on Grails, Ruby on Rails is a major plus.
Experience in Cognos development is a major plus.
Experience in using Protocol Buffers.
Experience in event-driven (publish/subscribe) programming models.
Experience in multi-threaded software design.
Experience in non-relational (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, etc..) database technologies.
Knowledge of Linux and bash shell scripting.
Ability to learn a new industry and technology quickly.
Experience in Financial Services Industry.
