Opportunity for a senior-level Product Manager who can work with a small development team to deliver
requirements and transform them into technical specifications for developing a cloud-based network security
application. This Role spans across multiple security technologies to create product solutions. The ideal candidate
must be able to ?dig in? and bring understanding and structure to deliver concise product requirements based on
well defined problems, support cases, proposed solutions and roadmap items.
DESCRIPTION and REQUIREMENTS:
The Product Manager will maintain the business plan for the markets served by our product line. In this role, s/he
will articulate the company?s distinctive competence and the product?s unique advantage. In support of the
business case, the PM will perform qualitative and quantitative research with existing customers and potential
prospects. In addition, the PM will perform sales, trend, and profitability analysis. As the key business manager on
the product, the PM will interface with industry thought leaders and strategic partners. The PM will work with
decision makers in marketing and sales management to ensure that the product is correctly communicated to the
In addition, this Product Manager is heavily responsible for the technical requirements of the product. This
includes on-going technology assessment within the context of the competitive landscape, scale applicability,
performance aspects, competitive differentiations and usability. In addition, the PM will perform on-going win/loss
and support analysis to better understand the features that are required for improved sales success. Based on
market-driven feedback from customers and prospects, the PM will write technical product requirements and use
cases when required. The PM will work closely with development managers to define the contents and delivery of
a product release.
This position reports to VP, Technology with the following responsibilities:
? Provide in-depth market, industry and competitive analysis and positioning.
? Develop pricing and packaging strategies.
? Work closely with the sales team to develop sales tools and training.
? Develop content for product and company collateral.
? Create Product Requirements Documents and coordinate product content with engineering.
? Manage the entire product launch process.
? Ensure success of critical projects and initiatives relative roadmap.
? Work independently with only minimal management oversight.
? Other duties as assigned.DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
? 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager with excellent project management, negotiation and
? Prior experience marketing enterprise-class software.
? Specific knowledge of and prior experience with logging, security event information management, and
? Demonstrated success in product launches and end-to-end execution of marketing strategies.
? Ability to translate requirements into technical specifications for Object Oriented development, XML, web
services, J2SE Server and Swing, portal technology, JDBC, Crystal Reporting, and Linux.
? Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation experience to large and diverse
? Extensive security technical, industry and business knowledge.
? Expert understanding of security technology and solutions and, at minimum, understanding of where the
security technology is heading.
? Heavy technical ability within an agile environment to capture product requirements and relate those into
? Understanding of security relationships between multiple products, technologies or solutions.
? Ability to conduct product demonstrations.
? Is familiar with SOC operations (preferably as an analyst in a managed service environment)
? Understands process flow in a SOC between Operator/System Engineers/Analysts back to customer
? CISSP accreditation is preferred
? Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science/Electrical engineering or equivalent is preferred.
