POSITION SUMMARY:Opportunity for a senior-level Java developer who can work in a small team developing a cloud-based network security application. The ideal candidate must be able to "dig in" and bring understanding and structure to poorly defined problems, propose solutions, and deliver the best solution in an efficient and timely manner.
DESCRIPTION:
Define, design and implement complex software in time-critical distributed applications.
Estimate effort, plan implementation, and track changes.
Participate in a multi-discipline engineering team that supports the life-cycle activities of software products and systems.
Perform additional duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
BS in Computer Science or closely related technical field, Master's degree preferred
4+ years experience in enterprise-class software development (JAVA)
Deep knowledge of efficient algorithm design
Superior Object Oriented skills
Superior multi-threading skills
J2SE Server Programming and / or J2SE Swing GUI Programming
JDBC Programming
XML and Web Services
Eclipse IDE
Linux command-line administration
Proven experience designing and developing enterprise-level applications
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to present complex technical ideas to team members.
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment.
KNOWLEDGE, REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Oracle DBMS
JUnit or other Java unit-testing tool
Crystal Reports
Experience with scripting languages (shell, Perl)
Experience in diagnosing performance, memory and other runtime stability problems in Java
Deep knowledge of advanced Java topics such as extreme multithreading, garbage collection internals, memory debugging and portability of Java applications
Hands-on with firewalls, routers, and / or IDSes
