Senior Linux Administrator
Job Description
You will be working with engineering, DBA and qa teams to provide support for our development and production systems. Architect and design solutions based on the product and engineering requirements. Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying processes that need to be automated and develop tools to build, maintain, and monitor systems to improve our platform. Identify and improve security and performance of our systems. Create documentation, processes and standards that are easy to understand and reproducible by others.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure services or related field.
- 4+ years Linux CentOS, RHEL systems experience
- An in-depth knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including networking, file systems, security, and the kernel
- A strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, VLAN's, firewalls,and load balancing
- Storage technologies ? NAS and SAN
- Virtualization technologies ? VMware
- Experience in system administration automation frameworks, eg. puppet, chef, fabric
- Strong Knowledge of Monitoring and Trending systems , eg Nagios /Cacti
- Excellent skills in scripting and automation in bash, Perl, Ruby and/or Python
- Hands-on expertise with web architectures and open-source technologies
- Experience with data center operations and best practices
- Experience being on-call in a 24x7 production environment
- Proven client /? vendor interaction skills
- Proven trouble-shooting skills
- Good communications & documentation skills
Optional Requirements:
- Knowledge of Databases - Oracle , MySQL, Postgres administration
- Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches
- Knowledge of tuning and troubleshooting JVM application servers .. eg. Tomcat, Jboss
- Knowledge of Storage administration, Netapp , EMC, 3Par
- Knowledge of Loadbalancer Technologies, eg. F5 , Netscaler
- Knowledge of Cloud computing platforms - AWS, Eucalyptus
