Senior Linux Administrator Zurka Interactive
We're looking for an outstanding Sr. Linux Admin to join a top-notch group supporting world class science and technology at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL). Zurka Interactive is expanding our team at NRL in Washington DC. You will be part of a team managing IT services on unclassified and classified networks for 5000 users. You'll be working with a variety of technologies in a heterogeneous computing environment.
NRL is an environment in which members of the team have a great deal of autonomy and numerous opportunities to grow their technical knowledge. Your work will involve responsibility for systems architecture, engineering, and administration for a complex systems environment on classified and unclassified networks. The environment will continue to grow and evolve providing challenges and opportunities for professional growth and collaboration. In the past we've supported researches doing work on nanoscience, autonomous systems and experiments deployed on the International Space Station.
You must possess proven administration ability on RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or CentOS 5, 6, as well as 7. The ability to write and debug shell (bash) scripts, and leverage configuration management solutions. You must have working knowledge of and real-world experience troubleshooting TCP/IP IPv4 environments.
A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related technical field and minimum 7 years of systems administration experience is required.
We're looking for someone with demonstrated experience across several of the following areas:
- Scripting (bash, perl, python)
- Datacenter & equipment management (inventory, organization, copper & fiber cabling)
- Large-scale system configuration management, network services (DNS, DHCP, SNMP)
- Network infrastructure (IPv6, layer 2 switching, cabling)
- Source code management (git, subversion)
- Server virtualization (VMware vSphere)
- Documentation management (DokuWiki, MediaWiki)
- Client operating systems (Apple Mac OS X, Windows 7/8)
- Web services (Apache)
- Security hardening guides & tools (DISA STIGs, SCAP, ACAS, HBSS).
Strong preference will be given to candidates who meet DoD 8570 requirements for an IAT II level position, including an active CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent.
U.S. Citizenship and a DoD Security Clearance is required.

This position is full time and on-site at NRL in southwest DC. For those not familiar with NRL, it is often described as a research university without the students.
