Senior Linux System Administrator mBlox

This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of all Linux-based standalone and virtual servers and associated peripherals (blade chassis, SAN storage, tape backup units, etc.). The candidate should be well rounded and have experience with server virtualization using XEN / KVM, working with NETAPP and EMC with SAN and NAS administration and allocation, and a working knowledge of IP networking (Cisco Switches/Routers/Firewalls) with a strong understanding of Layer 2/3 concepts.
Set up and manage server environments and applications for development, staging, and production as directed by the Production Manager ? Americas.
Manage incoming escalations from network operations, quality assurance, development, and customer support departments.
Lead and help with capacity planning/analysis and implementation of systems.
Take lead and work together with the team and external suppliers in troubleshooting/resolving system outages and other incidents to ensure system performance and stability
Create and work regularly to maintain documentation related to Data Centres, Systems, Applications and Networks
Work with global team members to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the mBlox network and services
When required, perform site inventories and installations at various local and remote office and data centre locations.
Recent 5+ years performing routine administration of RHEL 5 & 6/CentOS servers at the command line
Recent 5+ years supporting Linux/Unix environment applications and services ? DNS, NTP, NFS, syslog, Apache, FTP, SSH key management. Linux expert.
Solid scripting skills in both shell (bash, ksh, etc.) and perl. General LAMP knowledge a plus.
Back up planning, implementation, and maintenance.
Should be very highly skilled on virtualization (Xen, KVM with CloudStack ). Redhat Satellite Server/Spacewalk knowledge for building hosts and guest. (Experience with other system management methods a plus)
Experience deploying and maintaining java-based applications; general software deployment via the Redhat Package Management (RPM) system.
Knowledgeable in supporting and troubleshooting various server hardware technologies in Linux environments ? memory and add-on card installation, RAID, SAN, hardware replacement as directed by vendor support.
Understanding of small to midscale hardware deployment at the data centers. Must be capable of handling deployment / shrinking projects on their own and should be able to think ahead and plan projects.
Solid understanding of networking in a Linux environment ? understanding of IP addressing, netmasks, CIDR, port aggregation concepts (interface bonding), routing, dual-homed environments, arp, NAT, etc.. Good Cisco specific knowledge and general understanding of networks and network communication
Experience with Postgres, MySQL, or Oracle (all three a plus)
Able to work out of traditional business hours, including shift work and weekends when needed, and able to work in an on-call rotation ? both on site and from home (a home Internet connection is required)
Strong analytical/problem solving skills
Excellent communicator -- Oral/written communications must be clear, concise, and that expected of a senior technical professional
Travel to remote company locations and performing detailed, pre-planned work in isolation as needed
Experience working in the mobile messaging and android/IOS application industry.
OpenMQ knowledge or general messaging bus knowledge
Experience with Amazon Web Services, Rackspace
RHCE certification, EMC Proven Professional certification
Solid understanding of server and network virtualization -- especially CloudStack, Xen, and KVM
