Senior Linux Systems Administrator MIR3

You must know the difference between working fast and working smart, but can do both when the need arises. Our VP Engineering is a technical leader and motivator who is comfortable leading a small, talented engineering team in a high-pressure, dynamic and global environment.
As an ideal candidate for this role, you have experience managing multiple production services and the teams which develop and operate them. You are team-oriented and a fast learner who combines excellent judgment with networking and troubleshooting skills. You dream in bash but are also fluent in other languages such as Perl and Python. You know how to get a Java app server running from download in under twenty minutes. You can also contribute to a database discussion without irritating the DBAs.
In your career you have
Deployed and maintained VMWARE ESX infrastructure in production environments
Deployed, monitored, and maintained Linux servers and applications in production environments
Designed and managed monitoring solutions such as Cacti, Nagios, or other SNMP tools
Responded to emergency production concerns and provided solutions for optimal resolution
Qualifications:
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Positive attitude and user support oriented
Ability to take ownership of projects and follow through to completion and yet be able to work as part of a team
Able to work long hours and weekends when necessary
Able to create solutions so we can avoid working long hours and weekends
Desire to learn new skills
Self-motivated and goal oriented
5+ years experience as a Systems/Network Engineer or similar role in a production environment
Additional skills desired:
Previous networking experience including Cisco firewalls and switches
In-depth knowledge of RedHat EL versions 4 and 5
SAN/storage, design, deployment, maintenance and performance tuning in production environments
Knowledge of deploying Java applications
Ability to deploy and troubleshoot high-performance DNS and Postfix servers
Knowledge of telephony including PRI, signaling, NMS boards, MUX, etc., would be helpful
Security knowledge and credentials such as CISSP highly desired.
