Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Commercial Analytics develops and delivers business insights to the commercial team through integration of secondary data sources, primary research, and custom analyses.
Responsibilities:
Directs projects in strategic planning, development and delivery of commercial business analytics for Horizon Pharmaceuticals to inform, facilitate and drive key business decision making and guide global forecasting.
Serves as internal consultant and partners with Sales, Marketing, Managed Markets, Finance, Regulatory and Medical Affairs, etc. to ensure effective cross-functional communication and alignment on commercial analytics and insights.
Establishes process to provide information and intelligence to drive critical business decisions. Identifies and recommends appropriate marketing research studies and analysis needed to support the successful commercialization, current and future, of proprietary products.
Collaborates with other Horizon teams in the identification and evaluation of Business Development opportunities. Provides recommendations for appropriate research and analysis necessary to make sound decisions in support of transactions.
Provides accurate and in-depth analyses to cross functional leadership teams and serves as an integral part of the extended commercial team(s).
Collaborates with the Marketing team to fulfill data analysis needs in support of key strategic initiatives which balance personal and non-personal promotion.
Executes promotion response modeling and develops and delivers clear and concise presentations of model results to appropriate audiences.
Supports initiatives to segment and track physician behavior focused on driving optimal promotional efforts leveraging expertise in manipulation of large data sets
Participates in the planning, execution, analysis and reporting of primary and secondary market research findings. Utilizes business knowledge, analytics and research findings to influence marketing and sales strategy and objectives.
Participates on cross-functional teams bringing an enhanced understanding of available data, analyses, and brand performance
Qualifications and Skills Required:
BA/BS required, MBA preferred.
5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry or in business analytics consulting including experience in Analytics, Market Research and/or Sales Analytics, Forecasting and/or Consulting.
Highly proficient analytical and software skills aimed at data analysis.
Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, identify key issues, opportunities, and value drivers, and effectively translate strategic insights into an appropriate analytical framework to drive business decisions.
Strong ability to effectively analyze/interpret market research data to identify risks to the company.
Proficient in the use and interpretation of pharmaceutical data including physician and claims level data sets
Ability to work independently while leveraging effective time management skills
