Summary
Combining creative and analytical skills, the Senior Manager, Content and Social Strategy will have a proven track record of creating high-quality, impactful content for successful consumer brands.
This mid-senior level individual will be responsible for defining and creating innovative online content and strategies and implementing a thoughtful plan to promote Zipcar content across the corporate blog, social media platforms and for use across all marketing channels and local markets.
The right candidate must be energetic, passionate about trending news stories and have an illustrative history of creating unique traffic-driving digital content

Responsibilities:
Devise scalable, multi-purpose ideas and an editing process to produce irresistible, ready-to-publish content
Manage surveys, polls, content management systems and vendors
Plan and execute editorial calendar for blog and social platforms for cross-functional team
Advise and train global and local markets to create their own content relevant to their cities
Manage blog contributors for content delivery and consistency
Optimize content for search engines and lead generation
Craft crisp, clean headlines and teasers
Oversee social newsletter performance, monitoring and reporting on open rates, clicks, conversions and unsubscribes and creating strategies for increasing list size and quality. Test new tactics consistently.
Act as a liaison among different departments, including IT, brand, design, community, and third party vendors
Exceptional writing and editing skills and the ability to adopt a style, tone and voice of Zipcar to complement the brand voice
An analytical mind and interest in using data to optimize/scale blog marketing strategies and tactics
Manage social media coordinator
Excellent organizational skills to manage projects with many moving parts
Qualifications:
BA/BS preferably in communications, journalism, English or marketing-related discipline
5+ years managing content, blogs and social media and 6+ years in a communications role, working with key influencers
Expertise with consumer media and deep understanding of what drives stories
Experience Google Analytics and/or other analytic tools
An understanding of social media and online content that impact natural search traffic and rankings
A collaborative team player/team leader who cultivates a collegial spirit and understands how to gain internal agreement and acceptance of new ideas
High energy to inspire and drive results
Fast decision maker
Strong credibility, stature and the ability to command respect as a source of relevant expertise
Strict attention to detail with an ability to meet demanding deadlines in a competitive and rapidly changing environment
