Reporting to the Vice President of Demand Marketing, the Content Marketing Manager will work cross functionally in marketing to develop and execute on a content strategy designed to drive demand from lead inception through close deal. The Content Marketer will think like a publisher/journalist ? leading the development of compelling, relevant content intended to drive new business opportunities as well as expand the reach of Five9 solutions. The content marketer will play an integral role in defining our buyer?s journey, aligning the right content to the right persona based on where they are in our buying cycle, and driving content through all marketing channels. This is a highly visible role that will interact at all levels of the organization and require strong alignment with key stakeholders in marketing (product marketing, corporate communications, brand marketing, programs team).
Map out a content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand and for creating/converting demand.
Drive the content strategy through implementation, managing the creation, development and effective use of engaging content across all touch points, driving improvements in both lead generation and engagement metrics;
Understand the Five9 Buyer?s journey and create relevant content intended to lead a suspect through the journey to closed business. The content marketer will understand the Five9 ICP and associated personas and create the appropriate content leveraging the right content type, tone and delivery mechanism to accelerate the buyer through the cycle. Inclusive of early, middle and late stage content
Optimize content to improve search engine ranking, visitation and conversion;
Drive a cross functional program to align teams around content themes and topics. Ensure all stakeholders have a role and ?buy-in to content strategy and deliverables.
Manage relationships with writers/freelancers, editors, content strategists to ensure an efficient and effective service is being provided; be an arbiter of best practices in grammar, messaging, writing, and style
Contribute to the Five9 Blog and will use the blog as the hub of content initiatives (content will drive to the blog for conversion/SEO)
Publish content through appropriate channels based on buyer?s journey (social channels, website, slideshare, syndication, nurturing programs, etc.)
Develop a variety of content types including infographics and other ?fun? thought-leadership oriented content, curated lists/articles, animated videos, research/buying guides, interactive tools (ROI calc, RFP builder, etc), ebooks, briefs, and customer stories (written, video documentaries, talking head interviews, etc.)
Develop a functional content calendar that will keep all stakeholders aware of deliverables and their roles. Responsible for building a content library to track all content, score it based on stage and relevancy, and track its success across all channels it is used
Conduct ongoing usability tests to gauge content effectiveness. Gathering data and handle analytics and make recommendations based on those results.
Candidate Qualifications & Competencies:
5+ years in a content marketing role; an emphasis on content marketing for demand generation highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to successfully work cross-functionally to drive and execute on a content strategy that have proven successful in both driving demand (and awareness) as well as accelerating sales cycles and re-engaging stalled leads/opportunities.
Demonstrated proficiency to interview and work with domain experts to create compelling, impactful content that drives response and engagement with prospects.
Demonstrated ability to create multiple types of content without a team of resources and dependencies (i.e. written content, videos, blogs, etc.)
Strong ability to build relationships with customers and internal leadership at all levels, along with effective interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
Journalism background highly preferred.
Understanding of customer buying behaviors in SAAS environments
Ability to manage, prioritize, multi-task and will have thrived in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Possess outstanding written and oral communications skills and be equally effective in both formal and informal settings with executives, peers, and business partners.
A team player, effectively interacting with employees at all levels within the company.
Must be a self-starter and have a strong attention to detail and the ability to handle many different projects simultaneously.
